EDC Gives Away 100 Copies of Because of Winn-Dixie to Promote Remote Reading

While school isn’t in session, it’s crucial for students to remain active readers. EDC wanted to help this cause and give back to schools in the communities which they have served. The result turned out to be a real page-turner.

Friends of the St. Paul Library created the idea of a One Book/One Minnesota, an online book club for all Minnesotans. It’s a new statewide book club that invites Minnesotans of all ages to read a common title and come together virtually to enjoy, reflect, and discuss. Libraries are essential for connection, and through One Book | One Minnesota, libraries across the state will connect their communities through stories. The program aims to bring Minnesotans closer together during this time of distance and adversity.

The initiative is focused on keeping kids reading and distance learning, and Electronic Design Company helped out by giving away 115 copies of  May’s book of the month, Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo, from local business Magers & Quinn Booksellers. EDC was proud to donate these books to Carver Elementary, Richardson Elementary, Cedar Park Elementary, and Ascension Academy

We hope these books give students the encouragement they need to keep reading and enjoy a good story while at home.
