A major convention and event facility in St. Paul was operating on aging, end-of-life audio infrastructure that limited flexibility, reliability, and overall system performance. Disconnected components and outdated amplifiers made routing and control inefficient, while limited connectivity between key areas restricted system expansion. As event demands grew more complex, the existing platform struggled to deliver consistent, scalable performance.
Solution
EDC delivered a comprehensive upgrade centered on a modern DSP-based architecture, implemented through the ELUMINATE platform to unify and streamline system control. The project introduced new processing cores with redundancy, updated input and output modules, and enhanced network infrastructure to bring all components into a cohesive environment. Multiple touchscreen controllers were installed to simplify user interaction, along with monitor speakers for system verification. Legacy amplifiers were replaced with network-based amplification to improve efficiency and system performance. To support expansion between spaces, new fiber infrastructure was installed linking key control rooms and distribution points. EDC also handled removal of outdated equipment for client reuse or recycling and completed full system programming within ELUMINATE.
Outcome
The facility now benefits from a fully integrated, modern audio system powered by ELUMINATE, delivering improved control, reliability, and scalability. Staff can efficiently manage audio across a wide range of events through a simplified interface, while the upgraded network backbone supports future expansion into additional areas. With a more flexible and user-friendly platform in place, the facility is well positioned to support evolving event needs in St. Paul.
