The facility’s existing paging head end had reached end-of-life and was no longer supported by the manufacturer, creating reliability concerns and limiting the team’s ability to communicate clearly across the plant. In addition, speaker coverage was inconsistent in key production areas due to mezzanine obstructions, reducing message intelligibility.
Solution
EDC upgraded the paging backbone an ELUMINATE head-end, while maintaining the existing phone paging workflow to avoid disruption. Outdated paging stations were replaced with modern touchscreen interfaces at the head end and guard shack, enabling easier control of live and pre-recorded announcements. The system also introduced scheduled messaging capabilities and integrated background music streaming. To improve coverage, new speakers were strategically added in areas previously blocked by mezzanines.
Outcome
The facility now benefits from a reliable, fully supported paging system with improved clarity and coverage across the production floor. Staff can quickly deliver both live and scheduled announcements through an intuitive interface, while enhanced audio distribution ensures critical messages are heard where they matter most.
