Franklin Middle School Auditorium AV Upgrades

Problem

Franklin Middle School’s auditorium was operating with aging audiovisual technology that no longer met the needs of the space. The existing loudspeaker system had deteriorated to the point where many of the speakers were no longer usable, resulting in inconsistent audio coverage and reduced speech intelligibility throughout the room. Control of the system was very limited, note the original Middle School rack for the AV systems. The visual presentation system also presented challenges, relying on a small mobile projector table that provided limited image quality and lacked the professional appearance expected in a modern auditorium environment.

Solution

EDC Solutions partnered with Franklin Middle School to completely modernize the auditorium’s audio and visual systems. Through EDC’s Elevate design process, the team utilized EASE acoustic modeling software to analyze the room and engineer a new loudspeaker system designed to deliver consistent sound levels and exceptional speech intelligibility across all seating areas. The project also included the installation of a new permanently integrated projection system and intuitive control platform, allowing staff to easily manage presentations, events, and audiovisual content from a centralized interface while significantly enhancing the overall functionality of the space.

Outcome

The ELUMINATE upgrade has transformed the Franklin Middle School auditorium into a professional-grade presentation and performance venue. The new loudspeaker system provides clear, intelligible audio throughout the room, ensuring students, staff, and guests can hear every word regardless of where they are seated. Replacing the small mobile projector table with a modern integrated projection solution has dramatically improved image brightness, clarity, and overall presentation quality, creating a more polished and engaging environment for assemblies, performances, and community events.
