IT Coordinator / Support Specialist
Job Description
The IT Coordinator/Support Specialist will play a key role in supporting and maintaining EDC’s IT systems, with a particular focus on standalone AV client systems and network integration. This position requires a proactive and technically skilled individual to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize IT and AV systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the business and corporate clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting abilities, network security expertise, and experience with AV system protocols.

Responsibilties
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with hardware, software, and network systems.
- Assist technical staff in resolving network-specific issues related to integrated AV installations.
- Provide timely support for any technical problems affecting IT or AV system performance.
- Device Deployment & Maintenance:
- Manage the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of EDC’s IT devices, including laptops, iPads, PCs, monitors, mobile phones, and other accessories.
- Ensure all devices are functioning properly and updated with the latest software and security patches.
- Network Security & Compliance:
- Monitor and maintain network security to ensure systems and data are protected.
- Consult with clients to ensure their networks meet AV system requirements and industry best practices.
- Work with technical staff to implement security protocols for personal and deployed AV devices.
- Auditing & System Updates:
- Conduct regular hardware and software audits, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Perform system updates and upgrades to ensure IT and AV systems are up-to-date and functioning optimally.
- Data Backup & Recovery:
- Oversee regular data backups for both organizational and customer programming data.
- AV System Design & Consultation:
- Collaborate with clients and technical teams on AV system network design and configuration requirements.
- Web & Social Media Administration:
- Work with the marketing team to ensure the company website and social media platforms are optimized for performance, up-to-date, and secure.
- Remote Operations Management:
- Maintain EDC’s VPN for secure remote access to servers and data.
- Provide consulting services on remote monitoring and maintenance solutions for clients, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical communication systems.
Qualifications
- Experience with Operating Systems:
- Proficient in Windows 10 & 11, Windows Server, and Mac OS.
- Scripting & Programming Knowledge:
- Experience with scripting languages such as LUA, JavaScript, Python, JSON, and PowerShell.
- Microsoft Environment Expertise:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Network Storage, and Active Directory.
- Network & AV Protocols:
- In-depth knowledge of AV over IP protocols, including Dante, RTP, VoIP, SIP, PTP, TCP, UDP, WebSockets, and APIs.
- Troubleshooting Software:
- Experience using Wireshark or other network diagnostic tools to troubleshoot network-related issues.
Education & Certifications
- Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
- Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Data Professional (CDP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA Security)
- CompTIA Security+
Additional Notes
• A passion and interest in audio, video, and control systems will be considered a plus for candidates, as it will enhance their ability to understand and support AV systems.

- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work with diverse groups. Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and specific manufacturer software applications.
- Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
Physical, mental and environmental requirements
- Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.
- Some light lifting of objects is required.
- Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities also required.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
Travel
Out of town travel may be required.
