Audio Video and Critical Communications Systems Technician
Job Description
Responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of audio, video and critical communication systems, including but not limited to performance sound, paging, intercom, room audio/visual and control systems. The Systems Technician is responsible for installing and servicing the systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure minimum down time and maximum performance. All installations and service must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Electronic Design Company, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. The technician is responsible for communicating system performance to the customer and project manager.

Responsibilties
- Responsible for the completion of our work scope for assigned projects. Tests and documents readings for assigned projects and systems. Updates and maintains technical files for assigned technologies and projects.
- Troubleshoots and repairs components.
- Responsible for handling on-call duties on a regularly scheduled basis. Trains and instructs the customer on the proper use of the equipment. Responsible for reading and interpreting scope documents, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Responsible for operation test equipment
- Assists with preventive maintenance of customer equipment for assigned sites. Responsible for accurate tracking of time sheets, service/installation tickets and inventory transactions.
- Full compliance with Company’s and customer’s safety program. Research and obtain information on position specific training opportunities. Other duties as required or assigned by Company management.

- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work with diverse groups. Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and specific manufacturer software applications.
- Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
Ideal additional skills and certification
- Power Limited Technician License (PLT)
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
- QSC QSYS Level 2 Certification
- Crestron Core System Programming or Higher
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Physical, mental and environmental requirements
- Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
- Some lifting of heavy objects is required.
- Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
